GreatPoint Energy is commercializing a process for converting coal into high value clean natural gas. Coal is available in abundance in the United States and the 250 year known supply will ensure an affordable fuel for generations of Americans to come. GreatPoint Energy converts this low cost, but very dirty feedstock into the cleanest of all
commercially viable fuels; natural gas. GreatPoint Energy's product, called bluegas™, is 99.5 percent methane, meets all natural gas purity requirements, and is transported by standard natural gas pipeline. Production plants can be centralized in close proximity to the coal mine, where over half of the carbon (in the form of C02) can be sequestered. GreatPoint Energy intends to build, own, and operate bluegas™ production facilities and sell bluegas™ to regional distributors and customers in the power generation, industrial, heating and chemical sectors.
